A. You are eligible if you are currently enrolled in high school or have earned a high school diploma (or GED) or are a recent high school graduate.

Q. What days of the week are classes held?
A. Classes and times are set by each instructor. Your instructor will inform you if a class change is necessary due to a federal holiday or any other day.

Q. What if I miss a class?
A. If you miss a class you’ll have access of an archived online replay at your convenience!

Q. How many students will be in my class?
A. To allow for the best, personal education, there will be no more than 10 students in your class.

Q. Will I be able to speak with my instructor before classes begin?
A. Yes, prior to the start of classes, your instructor will call you, welcome you and get to know you.

Q. What are the credentials of the faculty?
A. All faculty members are seasoned sports broadcasting professionals with real world experience.

Q. What are the technical requirements for me to take this course over the Internet?
A. You will need computer access with a high speed internet connection such as DSL or cable - 1.5 Mbs/sec download connection. "Google Chrome" is the preferred browser. Other acceptable browsers are Mozilla, Safari and Internet Explorer 9.

Q. Will I receive any high school or college credit?
A. If you are accepted into the academy, you understand that the program is offered purely for personal development and enrichment purposes for students considering a career as a professional sportscaster someday. This educational experience is not intended to offer you high school or college credit nor is it intended to prepare you for employment immediately upon completion of the academy. Future employment opportunities will require that you complete advanced education, internships and/or volunteer experiences. However, before committing to a broadcasting college someday, investing tens of thousands of dollars, only to find out that you want to change your major or, maybe even drop out of college with enormous educational debt…then the YSN Sports Broadcasting Academy is for you! We are providing this opportunity early on to determine if you are truly interested in a sports broadcasting career.

Q. How much is the tuition?
A. The tuition rate for the 6-week term is $495.00.

Q. What does the tuition include?
A. You receive a 6-week live and interactive web-based training from professional sportscasters, a polo shirt with academy logo, an academy mic flag and wind screen, and an academy certificate of completion.

Q. What is your refund/cancellation policy?
A. The application fee is non-refundable. Cancellation refunds on the tuition are provided with a 7 calendar day written notice prior to the first day of class. Once classes begin and a student drops, the student can pick up the curriculum in a future session where he/she left off.

Q. Is the academy accredited?
A. This experience is an extra-curricular activity. Programs such as ours are not required to be accredited. However, we will be seeking national accreditation status in the future.
